Grants for conversion from solid fuel to Oil/LPG

MARK WARING from the County Council has funding for a project to fully pay for the conversion for people who are struggling to maintain their heating due to ill health or disability. As long as they qualify (which sounds very straight forward) he can get the conversion progressing quickly in time for winter. The project works well in Hartshorne as it is considered “off grid” due to the lack of gas supply.

Any residents in the village that it may apply to or neighbours  please get in touch so we can pass on the good news.    General enquiries to:-  Kevin Banton 01283 216430 Aug 2018

Burton Mail report on Log Cabins in Manchester Lane

Planning Committee were set for approval of log cabins in Manchester Lane. However,  the planning committee voted to refuse permission for the cabins by 10 votes to 4.  Well done everyone who attended in support and to the Manchester Lane stalwarts for all their dedication and research.  A great result! We have had another burglary now in Manchester Lane. It happened in the middle of the day and were opportunists so please be aware and vigilant with your property. 2017

Please be aware that a burglary took place in Ticknall Road not far from the Rodney junction at midday on Thursday 12 May,  when the owner was in the garden. 2017

She caught the man red-handed in the house and told him to get out! He was passive and did not attack her,  however,  she did find later that he had taken some money.

Please be careful and be on your guard when you leave the house to do simple jobs outside!
